Stay ahead of the Curve

Whether it’s a blunt cut or fringe, short or long shaggy layers, Balayage, Babylights, Pixi or Bixi, or a whole new shade of hair, anything goes.

The mid-length bob is a great hit, with a side- or middlepart.

Shaggy layers for a distinct 90’s vibe, creates light, soft, effortless styling.

Add copper or caramel tones to brown hair for dimension and a richer feel.

Fringe Benefits

There’s a fringe for everyone. A fringe to suit every face shape. Be it a heart, square or even the dreaded round face.

The Pixi Cut

Pimp up your Pixi … just add spray colour, a bit of bling with glitter gel, hair accessories or silver leave. A twist to the Pixi, is the Bixi. A longer version with Flick-ups in the nape, behind the ears which was a great hit trend in the 90’s. Go all gatsby with finger waves…

Foilayage and Babylights dominate hair colour trends, which is a low-maintenance multi-tonal colour technique.

Foilayage is a French technique, using freehand strokes, to create ultimate vibrant strands of colour. This can be done on any hair length, using cool or warm vibrant tones.

Babylights are delicate highlights, using foil techniques, painting bleach on finer pieces of hair. The result is super subtle with very low maintenance and a soft delicate look. This technique can be adapted to suit any hair colour as they grow out beautifully.

Both these techniques look amazing on straight and curly or wavy hair.

High Tech Conditioning Treatments

Between the sun, sea and sand, our hair gets a pretty rough deal. For those beachy natural waves, you need to start treating those locks with hair masks / treatments, to get it into tip top condition. A nourishing mask once a week at home keeps your hair in a good condition.
More and more salons offer high-tech conditioning treatments without removing lenght:

Removing split-ends with the Split-ender Pro Machine. It only removes the split-ends along the hair shaft and ends.

Bondpro + K18 is a hair colour saving miracle that will keep your hair silky, soft, smooth and strong, even after all professional and chemcial services. The more damaged the hair, the more dramatic the result. So with your next salon appointment, ask your hairdresser for advice.

TIP when on holiday: Start washing your hair under cold water before you take a dip in the pool. Your hair can only absorb so much water….so by washing it with fresh water first, you’re limiting the amount of damaging chlorine it can absorb. Apply a moisturizing mask that protects against chlorinated and salt water.

What is a balayage?

It is the French word, meaning ”to paint”. It’s a highlighting technique and it allows a sun-kissed natural looking hair colour.
The Balayage pieces should be very close and soft at the root leading to a thicker highlight at the ends of the hair. Balayage should be applied on the surface of a section and not saturated through the section until the very tips, otherwise you would have a streak of colour that isn’t very soft at all. Because it is hand painted, the colourist can do the placement that best complement the haircut, skin and features so it looks really natural rather than actually extremely coloured. Ombre means to shadow, and it’s a seamless graduation from dark to lighter. Both the Balayage and Ombre technique, can be merged. Sombre is a much softer version of Ombre and is still popular. The Ombre technique is busy phasing out. Foilage and Babylights are becoming more trendy. See Hair Trends section below for more on that.
